NORTH CAROLINA - Global Happiness Organization plans to make their US
launch in Carrboro, NC on August 20th with a campaign designed to
demonstrate the importance of generosity. GHO US President, James
Evans, and GHO volunteers will begin by handing out two $5 bills to
random people on the street. They will be instructed to spend one bill
on themselves, and the other on someone else.

The campaign was inspired by research out of Harvard Business School
by Michael Norton. In "Spending Money on Others Promotes Happiness"
researchers found that increased spending on others "predicted greater
happiness". The organization is working to bring the happiness agenda into
mainstream politics and public debate.
