On Sunday 27th of January, GHO launched its organization in Portugal. Portugal is the first country in Europe, other than Sweden, in which the organization is now running operations. This launch represents a great step for GHO towards its global expansion.
The spectacular launch, which took place both in Lisbon and Porto, consisted in giving out two 5 euro notes to random people who were out shopping in the main streets. Just as various scientific studies have demonstrated over the past years, the campaign was aimed at making people realize that when they buy something for someone else, such an attitude generally results in a greater personal well being than when people buy something for themselves.
“We believe that we have great chances of achieving success in Portugal. Portugal is well known for its hospitality and humane culture. It was one of the first countries in the world to abolish the death penalty. When visitors and tourists leave the country, they generally comment on how the Portuguese make people feel truly welcome and at home”, explains João Magalhães, president of GHO Portugal.
“In less than a week, GHO Portugal has been making the headlines through many newspapers and TV channels. We already have various different companies who want to cooperate with us and we already have more than 200 likes on our facebook page”.
GHO Portugal’s team feels very optimistic about its future and truly believes that the organization will contribute towards a happier world.
